As a volunteer, your responsibilities will include overseeing student work and providing guidance, as well as aiding students in remedial activities. All modules will be prepared beforehand. You need not have a prior knowledge of the topics, although you will need to attend a short briefing session before you begin, in order to be briefed on what will be done in the tutoring sessions, and how to use modules.
We will match every volunteer to 2-5 students whom we will take charge of. As a tutor, we want to see you take ownership of the group. By giving you room for creativity, we hope you will be inspired to set your own personal goals and target for the students for the classes you are volunteering as we work towards our big goal at the end of the year.
If you are from the corporate sector, we hope that this project can potentially be part of your personal or corporate social responsibility agenda. If you are a university student or a young professional, we believe joining us on this project can be a valuable leadership opportunity as you mentor and change the life of a child. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to meet and network with other like-minded people who will also be joining as volunteers.
